Employment Services

Foundation for Independence delivers a continuum of DDD-authorized Employment Services aligned with Arizona's Employment First initiative. From early exploration to community-based employment, supports are individualized to each member's strengths, interests, and goals — and gradually fade as confidence and independence grow.

A continuum of supports

From early exploration to community-based employment.

Members may receive STEP, ISE, or GSE services based on assessment, authorization, and individual readiness. Supports are individualized and aligned with each member's ISP.

How we support employment

Real workplaces. Real skills. Real growth.

Aligned with Arizona's Employment First initiative, our employment supports prioritize meaningful, integrated, community-based work — and gradually fade as members gain stability.

Job readiness & workplace skills

Practical preparation for interviews, communication, and navigating workplace expectations.

Employment goal planning

Identify the right role and create a realistic, person-centered path to get there.

On-the-job coaching

Individualized coaching that fades over time as confidence and skills grow.

Alternative pathways

For members exploring micro-enterprise, craft-based, or task-based work — meaningful skill-building beyond traditional roles.

Independence in work routines

Family & employer collaboration

Coordinated support across families, guardians, employers, and care teams.
