Morning and Evening Routines

The start and end of your day matter most. A morning routine helps you leave the house ready. An evening routine helps you wind down and prepare for tomorrow.

In this lesson

  • Build a simple morning routine.
  • Build a simple evening routine.

A sample morning routine

  • 1. Wake up and turn off your alarm.

  • 2. Use the bathroom and wash your hands.

  • 3. Brush your teeth and get dressed.

  • 4. Eat breakfast and take any medicine.

  • 5. Pack your bag and check what you need for the day.

A sample evening routine

  • 1. Put dirty clothes in the laundry.

  • 2. Lay out clothes for tomorrow.

  • 3. Charge your phone away from your bed.

  • 4. Brush your teeth and wash your face.

  • 5. Do something calm, like reading or quiet music.

Write it down

A routine is easier to follow when you can see it. Write your steps on paper, or make a checklist on your phone.

Put the list where you will see it — on the mirror, by the door, or as a phone reminder.

Quick check

Try these to see what you remember. There are no grades — pick an answer to see how you did.
